THE SPECIFICS
ο· We are helping remodel a historic home in Downtown McKinney that was originally built by a family member that currently resides in the home. The home has been purchased back to keep it in the family and is getting remodeled by Habitat For Humanity to bring it up to “historical code”, creating equity in the family while keeping it up to date. It is great to know that the family members are working alongside Habitat to rebuild and keep this special place in the family.
ο· Participants must watch a short online training safety video prior to participating. 12 minute safety video can be viewed hereπ: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Un0nL2zqfms
ο· The construction workday is from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, Saturday, November 2nd. Volunteers are asked to make as much of the full-morning commitment as possible.
ο· No previous construction skills are needed; Habitat For Humanity staff will provide all materials, training, safety equipment and supervision during our build day.
ο· The minimum age to participate in the team build is 16 and the minimum age to participate in the Community Builder After Party is 21.
ο· A limited wine tab will be available to community builder volunteers at Lone Star Wine Cellars starting at 3pm on November 2nd. Sit back and enjoy the rewards of doing your part in supporting our beautiful community!
ο· Community Builder T-Shirts will not be available in time for this first build but when they come in we will be sure that all of our volunteers get their t-shirt!
